Soft Cases (Gig Bags) for Rickenbacker’s

It seems like years since this topic has been addressed. Since that time there have been many new improvements regarding gig bags. That said, I now have Mono Vertigo gig bags both for my 620/12 and my 360 guitars. They have a neck locking system and are very well padded not to mention light weight. As I get older, the hard case seems to feel heavier :) . The one negative to these cases is that it will not fit the wider necks such as the 660, 650, and the 1993+. For me the gig bag is a positive since I am a local musician and I just go to and from the gig, sometimes on public transportation. I would never check a guitar or bass or place in an overhead container in any gig bag. Those are the times that I would stick with the hard case. When placing a gig bag in the trunk of a car one must be careful of the trunk hinges as not to crush the guitar. I'm sure that there are other gig bags that offer neck, body and strap pin protection as well. Please post like or other opinions on the subject.

I use both the Mono and the Gruv Gear Gigblade ( which is my current favorite).

There are 2 bags that I use; Reunion Blues (their top of the line - I forget the model number) and an Undercover bag. Not sure if the Undercover is still made - I love that bag. I just brought my '85 4001V63 back to Germany with me in that bag - no checking of course. I also carry my '65 Fender Jazz and Fodera around in these bags if that says something...
