I was thinking there wasn't much going on, either! January blues and all that... :D

It looks pretty white out my window!

Perhaps everyone is waiting for all the big announcements at the NAMM Show from every manufacturer there that will make us open our wallets, in the meantime we just sit patiently for next week to arrive.

So, what is Rickenbacker gonna roll out at winter NAMM, maybe a 4001v68, with checkerboard binding, crushed pearl inlays, toaster, horsey???

Damn, part of me hopes not!! I may have to buy it! :( I love my 4003 S W. While I don't own a vintage S, I imagine the 4003 S is not at all like its older cousin. I've played a few 68's and I love that vintage!! The neck is amazing and the short pole toaster interacting with the horsie is perfection to me. I somehow think I'd be let down with a hi-gain neck pup and a faux horsie being called a v68. CB binding would be a very nice touch but not enough to "tic all the boxes" !!

Ditto, indeed. I'd have to be in line with Sepp, if all the appointments were correct. Sepp, if the treble pup is unsuitable, just pick up a Lollar HS. You can move it around the herd, on an 'as needed' basis (basses). If not a V68....maybe we'll party like its (RM)1999.

Aw heck, it's the middle of Summer and the whole country is shut down and on Holiday!

Yeah, that's what happens here in NZ...

Well, only if you're trying to get a lot of projects done around the house and come across that inevitable thing you need from the hardware store only to realize the store won't be open for 10 more days...

Yeah, there were some, but the best ones were 5 hours away. Of course, you could mail order just about anything and get it in a couple of days. Not so here in NZ, lots of things you just can't get. You can order them from the U.S., but it takes a couple of weeks. Still, it's often cheaper to buy from the U.S. and pay the shipping than to get a similar (often lower quality) item locally...
