When I was a youngster gigging back in the 90's, I was using Rick Compressed Roundwounds 10-42. Are these no longer available? I see they are now 10-46 and Compressed is not on the label. I just tried a set of GHS Burnished Nickel Rockers thinking they might be the same but boy, was I wrong! Is there an alternative to the Compressed Roundwounds? Thanks

10-46 is the new normal for current production RIC strings. You sometimes see older sets of unused RIC 10-42 gauge strings for sale on ebay.

FYI, Pick of the Ricks carries a variety of string gauges, including Curt Mangan 9-42 Nickelwound 9/11/16pl/24/32/42 (plain 3rd)

I use the TI JS 110's. They are a bit pricey but well worth it. They are flatwound 10-44 and I find that they make a Ric sound like a Ric. I hope that this helps.

I don't mind bumping up to a 46 as all of my other guitars have these but I'm concerned they are no longer the same strings because the new package doesn't say Compressed.
Does anyone know if they are?
I also noticed Rick strings are no longer $4.50 a pack, lol.

The new RIC strings are round wound.

POTR sells a set of 10-42 compressed wound strings under their brand - presumably identical to the 'obsolete' RIC ones. I haven't done exhaustive searches, but haven't seen them elsewhere.

Looks like this is the way to go but they're $14 a pack plus shipping from the UK.
