I've been seriously considering popping for this - http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/msg/5507115116.html

It would be used for soul, R&B, blues, rock.

I have an Italia Imola and really like it but, I've been gigging quite a bit lately and would enjy something a bit more pro.

Anybody have experience with these?

I have played only one Rob Allen, many years ago, very cool bass, however, my vote goes to the Veillette. Joe makes incredible instruments, and I have two basses that his partner, Martin Keith made which are fabulous. The Citron pickup in that bass is great, I have 4 of them in my two Keith basses.

Both are actually priced nicely. The Veillette , I'm sure you noticed has two cracks at the bottom which Joe himself said are stable. I guess I'll look at the seller's return policy because I really want it in my hands first.

As Joe did the repairs, I would not worry about it.
