Unfortunately Rickenbacker discontinued the acoustic line quite some time ago. After that, Paul Wilczynski continued building them with the blessing of RIC using the remaining materials. I believe that he is no longer building them. As for the sound, I have a 730L/12 that was built at the Rickenbacker factory in 2001 and I think that the sound is fantastic. Since sound is subjective, please check out the video using the Rickenbacker acoustic. If anyone else has audio or video using the Rickenbacker acoustic, please post them as every guitar may have a different sound.

Paul is still building them - just not using RIC's logo anymore.

I gather the licensing agreement with Rickenbacker is now at an end.

They are "Madeleine" guitars now - named I gather after Paul's daughter. Same great build quality as always.

If my aging memory is correct, the licensing agreement came to an end because Paul had used up the materials that he had received from Rickenbacker. Also, I think "Madeleine" was Paul's granddaughter.

He recently showed me the Jazzbo he built, a fantastic looking instrument, excellent detailing.
