What's the lead time these days on a 325c64?

I've got a big birthday coming up and promised myself this guitar. How far ahead should I order? I've read they were 1-3 years behind in old forum posts, what's it like these days?

Thanks!

- Randy

Rickenbacker used to have around a two-year backlog, which they were able to lessen somewhat with a switch to UV-cured paint. However, they still tend to make guitars in batches of 25. So they'll wait until they get 25 orders for Jet-glo 325C64's, for example, then produce that batch. So you might think about looking for the model and color you want now, and see where it's already available.

There's a glut on ebay right now. See if you can talk one of the sellers down to a reasonable price.

The going price seems to be $2,695 - I've seen several on eBay at that price.

Savvy players will snag an early 80's 320 for $1K and trick it out to Lennon spec.

Looks like those are going for nearly the same price ($2k)!

Some do, but some slide in closer to 1k.

Just ordered my guitar from a local dealer. Could be a week, could be a year. Let's see how it plays out :)

Darn. Wish I read this thread a day earlier.

Musician's Friend always has a number of them in stock. Brand spanking new. And best part of dealing with them is you can really deal with them. I got my 325 price knocked down 20%. That made the guitar $700 cheaper. That's nearly a grand I saved!

I, too had a big birthday, took the gift money from that, ordered my 325 from Musician's Friend, got it three days later. Happy with product, happy with service, happy with price.

No worries - my local dealer beat Musician's Friend's price, and I'm not in a mad rush.

Good for you. 20% off what others sell that 325 for is fine savings.

Enjoy it when it comes.

MF would never discount Ricks for me, tried many times. They did a price match -10% for one of my Ricks, but then stopped doing price matches. I buy a lot of things from MF, but not Ricks.
