2000/3000 Series - same pickups?

Post by ilan »

What the subject line says. A friend is looking for a pickup for his 2030. There is a 3000 Series pickup on eBay. Will it fit?

So can he just cut the "ears" off a 3000 pickup and install it in a 2030?

Well, no. First you have to cut the ears off, but then you need to glue a pair of the rubber well nuts with brass inserts to the back of the pickup for the stock pickup adjustment screws to thread into.

I am pretty sure I have a 2030/200 series pickup around here. I'd have to look around a bit for it. They are pretty hard to find though so it won't be a fire sale. I'll post up a pic or two and DC resistance readings if your friend is interested and you/he can make me an offer. Send me a PM if interested as I don't get on here as much as I would like these days.
