Looks like matte finish with black hardware, quite the teaser. Not my cup of tea, but I can imagine the GAS firing up at large.

Hard to tell from that small sliver, but the fingerboard looks like it may be EIR.

This? (Which I don't know anything about but think the poster mislabled.)

That's what I figured - with there actually being the small dot fret markers, just hard to see in the low res photo. The bridge looks chrome but hard to tell. I'm sure it's a decently passed around photo (I mean, McCartney stuff doens't go unnoticed) and there is better info on that particular one.

The OP did not mislabel. There was a post on Rickenbacker's FB page with that photo and the caption "The Blackbirds are coming" (since edited).

Was referring to the facebook poster of April 2013, didnt use the term "OP." I can say firsthand that that teaser is having the desired effect.

I was in a rush and super excited so I wasn't able to post a screen grab of the teaser but I'm excited. They also posted a pic of a 4003s JG, maple fingerboard and mirror pg which I assume is going to Japan but if anyone knows more about that please inform...basically my dream bass.

I suspect a Rickenbacker" Blackbird" 5 string model would sell pretty well. Ben?
