4003 pickup question

I'm thinking of swapping out the pups in my new 4003s with a toaster and horseshoe. Is this a simple retrofit? or do I have to mod the harness in anyway due to the push pull pot?

I'm pretty sure it's as simple as it sounds, but I'm sure more knowledgeable folks here can chime in.

I did something like that with my 4001. Assuming that you have soldered things before... As long as the new pickups fit, you should just have to un-attach (un-solder) the existing wires (2 per pickup) and remove the original pup. thread the new pickup in and solder its wires to exactly where the original wires were de-soldered from. Take a couple of pictures before for a reference (if needed). I'd recommend doing them one at a time - easier to remember where the wires went... but then you have a picture of that... good luck and let us know how it goes. Also while soldering put something down between the pickguard and soldering and covering the bass body to protect from solder splatter and accidents with hot solder....better to burn a little cardboard as opposed to a nice looking bass guitar or pickguard.
