Farewell to my mate Griffin
After a stoic bout with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer, our fabulous friend Griffin, the wonder-corgi, passed away this morning. He was a loyal, affectionate, stubborn, mischievous and wise companion. It's funny how the absence of a small dog can leave a large hole in your life. He was greatly loved and is sorely missed.

I am truly sorry for your loss, Even. I have always enjoyed the various photos you have posted of Griffin over the years.
On of Shari's sisters have had a couple of corgis over the past 20 years so we know what kind of joy corgis can give people.

You had him for a while didn't you Evan?
I confused Faraday's cage, with Schrodinger's cat box....

Very sorry for your loss,Evan.
Some friends of ours just lost their corgi yesterday too. (His name was Kongo).
He was a cool dog that loved to fetch.

Sorry to hear this, Evan. Our pets truly are members of our families...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Re: Farewell to my mate Griffin
Many thanks for the kind thoughts. We had the privilege of having Griff as part of our family for over 12 years, so he played a huge role in the childhood of our three (now adult) kids. In addition to being a wonderful dog, he was like a sibling and/or extra parent for them, depending upon how they were feeling.
Despite his acute hearing, he was the only family member who would venture into the music room when I was practising. That's loyalty for you!
My current avatar is a portrait of myself and Griffin done many years ago by Nathan, my elder son, using a finger-painting app on my wife's first ipad. I like to think of it as a humorous caricature. Nathan claims it is photo-realistic.

Evan what wonderful words that you have chosen to express your loss and the meaning Griffin had for you. I am sorry for your pain but at the same time touched by the joy that your pet has given you during this life. I will be thinking of you.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
