Regular guitar polish ok to use to clean my 4003?

Post by lumgimfong »

My new 4003 fireglo arrived today!
Looks a little dirty so I was just gonna use my regular fender guitar polish for it. Is that OK? No wax or silicone in the polish.

What do you use for your 4003 finishes?

I think the factory uses Turtle Wax... a lot of folks here like Swirl-X and Zymol, IIRC. but really, unless it's super grungy, the best thing might just be a nice clean cotton cloth (one that hasn't been washed with detergents and stuff) and some elbow grease. Do you have the yellow RIC cloth? I've always found them to be excellent.

Naphtha along with the above mentioned "diaper" works excellently for all cleaning needs on your instrument. As to polishing, if you want your 4003 to sound like a Fender go ahead and use your regular polish....................
