My new 4003 Noir.
My thanks to the fine folks at Wildwood guitars for getting it to me quickly & safely, and my thanks to the amazing craftsmen at Ric for building such a wonderful sounding, great playing & fantastic looking bass.

Welcome to the Noir club, Richard! Curious, did you just receive this? Is it new or previously owned?

Cheers
Andy

Andy,

It is new. It popped up on the Wildwood Guitars site a few days ago, and I called them as soon as I saw it. I think it was on their site for a total of 10 minutes!
Mine has a serial number indicating it was built in March of 2017, and I believe the other 29 Noir basses were made in 2016.
I have heard rumor from a person on Talk Bass that one 4003 Noir was returned because of supposed truss rod issues, and it is possible mine was built to replace that particular bass.
I had thought the Noirs were all sold out & I had no intention of purchasing a new bass anytime soon, but when opportunity knocks, you answer the door or you miss out. :D

Love the Noir. Is it stored under LOC or Dewey?

lol!

I play it, but I wash my hands before touching it, and treat it with kid gloves.
It sounds & feels too good not to play, but I have decided not to gig it & keep it as pristine as possible.

Hey Richard, just noticed you live in Highlands Ranch and I am in Littleton just across from Chatfield Res.
What band do you play in? I am in the band Liquor Biscuit.

Wow, it's a small world.
I play for Piranha Gun, and we have actually met - I was your unplugged gig at the Columbine, and you were kind enough to demo your FEA compressor pedal (for which I'm now on the waiting list) for me.
Let me know when you guys are playing out again!

Liquor Biscuit and Piranha Gun? We've got to get these bands together on a double bill!

LOL, good timing. Of course I remember you now. I also own a noir but haven't taken it out in the wild yet.

Timing is perfect, LiquorBiscuit (electric) is playing tonight at Columbine 8-12 and weather permitting on the outdoor patio at Platte on Sunday 1-5. Bring the Noir and I will baptize it with a minor ding so you don't have to baby it.

Stephen, did you get your Noir from Wildwood, and was yours made in 2016, or 2017?
