toaster covers for hi-gain
I want to put toaster covers on my 1981 320. The hi-gains are cool but, my picking style get gets hung up on he pole pieces. Can I remove the pole caps on the hi-gains (without wrecking them) and install just the toaster chrome tops. Anyone try this with success ?
Re: toaster covers for hi-gain
I did several of them a while back. As I remember, I just cut the buttons off, stuck the poles back in and put the new covers on. I never stuck them on a meter, but they don't seem to have changed in terms of sound or output.

Toaster covers for hi-gain
There are several threads here on the RRF, (including some with instructional pictures), of High Gain "conversions" to Toaster Tops, or "Toasterizing" High Gains ... or the variety of names this process goes under. Check the Search engine. There are different processes that folks have used, depending upon the types of Pole Pieces on the High Gains. The Pole Pieces changed over the years.
