BurgundyGlo in 1979 - any numbers?

Hi all, been a while since I posted
Ive been looking for years to get a 1979 4001 in BurgundyGlo. All I ever seem to find are '78 and '80 BG basses... only ever seen one 1979 one for sale. Were many made in this finish in '79? Am I trying to find something that's extremely rare?
Thanks - Steve

Well there were at least 30 of them made in BG in 1979.

By averages of what we have collected in the register, (which is a good "best guess" as RIC never releases production numbers), perhaps 300 - 350 in total.
My 4001 is from 1979, so I would vouch for it being a good year!

I thought my BG might be a 79, but no, it's a 78. One of my favorites.

My old 79 4001BG is in the registry as a Collected Item...bought it in October 1980 with my summer job money when I was 15.

Much rarer of course would be a 1979 Burgundy 4005. Only two of those collected so far!
