Do you think that trimmer pot is gain, then, or attack? You mean when you raise it too high, your note is getting compressed too much? I wonder if that's actually ratio.

I thought the same thing myself. This is a feature of the circuit that I like, the fact that you can get SO MUCH compression, that the initial strike of the string fades in, almost like a backwards guitar effect.

Right! I wonder if the circuit is accomplishing this with a low threshhold, or a higher ratio, or shorter attack? I bought one of the first RM12 and love the guitar but the built in compressor was noisy for me and had issues clicking and I called JH and after some back n forth sent it back for repair.
