Oh man!
I like to share this with you all.
I purchased recently a '73 4001 in Fireglo. The luthier replaced the worn out frets and installed a lollar horseshoe.
The wood is exeptionally good; dense birdseye maple with the darkest rosewood you've ever seen.
It took a bit of time, a bit of trial and error but finally here it is; this KILLER Rickenbacker sound!
I was searching for it for a long time and now I've found it.
Thomastik Infeld flats and a tube amplifier btw.

You know, I've never tried a Rick with a real horsie. Would love to at some stage.

Awesome! I've owned a Mar 73 and a Dec 73... some of the best players I've ever had!

It's the MC863; anyone who knows where it comes from? History.

That's only a few numbers away from my old March '73 4001.
