I am looking at what is advertised as a 2015 360 Natural Walnut. The serial number is standard but the year number above it reads 1 with an upside down V. Not an A but an upside down V.

Is this bogus?

Here is a photo.

If it is legit, most likely, the A did not completely get stamped on the plate. A 2015 model year plate would say 15 in that location, as in model year 2015; the number/letter designation has been gone for quite a number of years, now, so, this instrument must have a "repurposed" jack plate on it. Any more photos for verification?

No unfortunately that is all I have. I asked the owner if the guitar had been refinished but he said no. Will try to find out more next week.

Quite possibly a " 14 " that wasn't properly stamped.

See example below. The " 1 " (one) on your plate should have a horizontal line at the bottom; it doesn't. So it is also possibly missing the bottom of the " 4 ".

That is a possibility. The dealer is going to contact the original owner to see if they still have any documentation and I also sent the message and photo to Rickenbacker. We'll see what they say. I knew I could count on the forum for ideas/suggestions.

The folks at Rickenbacker agreed it looked like a mis-stamped 14. I pulled the trigger and it is on its way. Here are some shots from Reverb.

Love to hear your thoughts on how the neck feels when you get it. I’m considering a walnut 330/12.

The grain on that looks superb! Congratulations.

Anticipating the neck will be much the same as a 360 Mapleglo I had several years ago. The W series necks should be the same maple as all the other 360s. Looks like the 360W and 330/12W have the same neck size/dimensions if I am reading the Ric web site correctly.

Will let you know how it feels and plays.

Neck should be the same yes. Was more curious about how it feels without the laquer on the neck. The w series from everything I’ve seen is just a oil finish. I’ll be hopefully trying one this weekend myself!

I've got a 380 and the neck is super fast! Makes up for it being wider than I'm used to. Funny thing is my 650A has the wide neck, and the gloss finish, but I tend to play stuff on that one that calls for a wider neck so I don't seem to mind.

The neck is super fast and smooth much like my Strat's maple neck. Love it. The guitar is like new. Think I will keep it.
