Let's say someone ordered a 360/12WB in 1977 and asked for toasters... was that a possibility? If so, would they have dimples in the corners of the black stripes?

I'm pretty sure toasters were available, and they would not have dimples (neither of my '73 4001s had dimples on their toasters).

Thanks! Thought so.

Since posting this, I've found further evidence that the guitar in question had all these mods done much much later - a mention of "scatterwound" reissue toasters even.

Scatterwounds are good.

Right, but I want to put this guitar back to the way it was originally. I've got enough toasters around; I could use a nice hi-gain-equipped 12er in the arsenal. Especially those old breadboard hi-gains! I have a pair of transitional hi-gains already... I might throw those in it!

Oh and I lifted the hood and found evidence of Rosa - no surprise! also "360/12 OS." even though it's a 24-fretter :)

I read that these are quite popular pickups to install in a Rick guitar, minimal mods required.
