White touch-up paint for Vintage Truss Rod Cover?

Post by emjayw »

Can anybody steer me to a good matching touch up paint for my mid nineties Vintage truss rod cover? It had some missing paint when I bought it from RIC along the edges and has a small chip near a screw hole. I prefer it to the newer plastic replacements and it now resides on my '09 620/12. :?: Thanks, Mike in Texas

Any quality spray paint in FLAT WHITE will do. I think I'm currently using Duplocolor. Flat white dries quickly, doesn't run as easily, and looks just as shiny under clear plexi/acrylic as gloss white.

Unfortunately, flat white won't match the gloss paint on it originally. Vintage TRC's have paint applied to not only the underside, but also to the sides of the plexiglass therefore making an exact match necessary.

I've successfully used those tiny bottles of Testors hobby enamel to touch up TRCs from the underside with a small brush. Just a dab will do ya, and I believe I used gloss white.

Available at any local hobby store
