I've done a search, and still looking, but when did Rick start up the black bindings? What was their years of runs? I know about the ones in mid-80's but mine is before that. Stripped of original finish and hardware but trying to get a bead on date... 4001 XX.

Just a guess here, but I don't recall seeing any Ricks, or photos of any, that were earlier than 1974 that had black binding.

I think it probably showed up on the white finishes first around the time that the Checkered Binding went away.
