I recently read an article in American Bungalow (issue 87/88) which mentions that John Hall built the furniture for the Gamble House.

Seems to be a common name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hall

"Musical instruments" is just another phrase for furniture that makes a sound, anyway.

Yeah, years ago I read about him being a jazz guitarist, among other things. Still, when the name pops up it does jog the brain. The Gamble House furniture is just as well known, and loved by many, as Rickenbacker instruments are.
