White 360

I have a white 1985 360 and haven't seen another like it so I'm wondering if it's a custom order. It has black binding on the body but white on the neck. I've seen that on basses but never on a 360. Any thoughts?

There's just a couple more in the register, also from the early eighties. Looks like the cut off is in 85. From then on it's black neck binding on the black trim models as far as I can see.

Nice guitar!

The white guitars (330 or 360) without black trim (i.e.. white neck binding and chrome hardware) are quite rare.
The hardest one to find is the 330 in this configuration since it's what Paul Weller used during the "Town Called Malice" era.
Nice guitar, congrats.

Cool, I hadn't seen the registry before but there are a couple like mine there. One notes it was a custom order. I've had this one since '88 or '89.

Thisismusicinc,
Look closely, his is black binding and black trim. Someone swapped out the black hardware for chrome. So, I don't think that rare, but a beauty.
What would look really cool is white guards!

I disagree; I think the hardware on this is original. This guitar has more in common with pre-1985 Ricks than post-1985 Ricks, and black hardware was not used on a Rickenbacker guitar until at earliest 1985. Note the white neck binding as well - this binding color mismatch is a hallmark of the 70's / early 80's.

Yeah, the thing that I thought was odd is the mix of black binding on the body and white on the neck. Prior to looking at the registry I'd not seen that on a 360 before (not I'm any Ric historian) only seen it on a few basses

Biscuti,
Good point and close eye. I didn't blow it up, but I saw sound hole.
The guitar screams white or checkerboard pickguards!
