Bad Cat Cougar 5 Issue

Post by RicUpNorth »

I’ve had this amp nearing two years now and it sounds pretty amazing. I know these aren’t the MIA Bad Cats, but for around home and recording demos it’s a sweet tone. Problem is recently it staters acting up. It powers, functions. When I play through it it still produces sound, but I get a lower sounding overtone that is not pleasant with every note, like a buzzing beneath what I play. I’ve swapped tubes (all 3) and played it through other cabinets and tried different guitars. Is this likely something simple or am I doomed to bring it to a tech?

Thanks for any input.

I experienced the same problem with an amplifier I had. How old are the power tubes. Have you changed them recently? It worked for me. It can't hurt while you wait for the amp techs to show up here.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
