Thanks John. Quite a transition from Hannah Montana.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Looking around the net, I found some links that say that Steppenwolf used Transonic 200 amps.
You can see a fuzz effect in this Transonic preamp http://www.rickenbacker.com/pdfs/transonic_preamp.pdf

Ha ha, I know that dude! I forgot how small it looked with that little neck on there. I've got a 25" 24 fret one on there now. I love the way it sounds...very very full, commanding and massive. I strung it with the low from a 7 string set. I used a the David Feet Rodgers tuning in D for da kine but recently went with CGDGBD. It is a nice slide friendly mix of bass & guitar.
Neck is a HiGain and bridge is the 1971 "no-shoe" HiGain transitional steel pickup they used after ditching the horseshoes. The "no shoe" sounds great but is lower in output than the neck HiGain.
The color is Ford Cayman BlueGreen which I painted my 69 Blazer back in 95...also seen on '90's Ford Explorers & Escorts. Duplicolor rattle can. I made the paint craze so it looks lived in. I may switch the 800 body for the 850 body I did once I get that one resprayed in 1958 GM Royal Turquoise.
