Been using flats for years (Chromes).
Thinking of going to rounds again for a while for even more brightness and kick.
Was wondering what you use on your bass.

TI Flats. I use them on all my basses.

Easy, For rounds, TI Jazz Rounds, for flats, TI Jazz Flats.

TI flats for me as well.

Rounds - D'Adderio Exl170s (for four string), Exl220 (for 5 string and 8 string fundamentals) and RotoSound Swing 66

Flats (for the four strings) D'Adderio ECB84

Right now I just have flats on my 4001 and am loving it!!

Michael, good question. We have had many discussions about rounds vs flats and beyond. I look forward to seeing the discussion this time round.

Stock Rickenbacker Rounds on the '98. (If it ain't broke, don't fix it.)
Optima 4440-RB on the "93.
I think it was y'all who turned me onto Optimas.
I like them so much, I have them on one of my Jazz Basses now as well.

I use D'Addario tape wounds.

I can honestly say I have never once in my many years of owning Ricks, ever even thought about trying flats on a Rick.

It will only cost you a set to try them.

Good luck on your tone search, for me it's rounds hands down, no doubt.

The flats seem to add more harmonics with fuzz and distortion peds. Don't get me wrong I love rounds been using them for 20+ years, but the chrome flats just have a really cool sound. Thinking about trying the,m on my 4004C. The flats are very bright they just don't have the raspy growl of the rounds. One cool thing about using the Daddario EXLs and the ECBs (I got this from Joey) is that they are almost drop in replacements. Little to no adjustment. Gotta luv it!

Went a long while with a set of La Bella flats, then switched to Rotosound 77's for their "tauter" feel.
Been wondering lately about whether to try either the Optimas or the Maximas.
(I do love the way red silk pops against the headstock/truss rod cover, though)

Using Fender 9050L flats at the moment. After trying a few different brands over the years, they seem to be the “Goldie locks” strings for me in terms of sound and tension/flexibility. They feel just right and I find the sound to be combination of my favourite rounds and flats tones. They’re also easy to find and relatively cheap compared to other brands.

Red silk looks good against Snowglo, too.
Sounds great, also!

Green works, too. (TI Jazz Rounds)
