Rob: I would say that this is par for the course in 1985. I have provided a 1985 Ruby 6 string with white binding and guards but you will get the idea. The example you provided does not appear to have been cared for all that well. Hopefully some luthiers will chime in here.

Looks fine to me but the bridge pickup has suffered some sweaty beast over the years.
I'd want to check that out before buying.

Both pickups look affected.

70's & 80's 360 inlays were rounded inset triangles instead of across-the-fretboard inlays. Others on the forum will be able to tell the exact dates. Attached is a picture of the middle of the neck of my 360-12.
