V2 tailpiece installation on 4001V63 and CS - photos

I was visiting the YouTube channel of bassist and Rick owner Bernard Nicoll (is he a member here? I dunno...). He posted a video of his 4001V63, fitted with the new V2 bridge/tailpiece. The sound quality is a bit compromised, unfortunately (it has a nasty digitization whistle on it), but here's the link anyway FWIW:

HOWEVER, he also posted a link to a photo gallery showing the V2 being installed on a 4001 Chris Squire model. Given the number of enquiries we've had on here from people asking about this simple procedure, I thought you might like to see the pics: CLICKY LINKY THING

Great pics of the V2 installation on the CS, should help various Forumites who've been asking about V2 installation

Those links are extremely helpful. Thanks for finding and posting them.

I am about ready to commit to doing the replacement on my own bass. If I do, then I'll try to take some stills and post them on this forum.

I don't think I'd put one on a CS model - why go to the trouble of having a replica bass and then modding it?

Why shouldn't the owner have modified it?

Anyway, aren't there already significant differences between a reissue tailpiece and one that would have been installed on an RM 1999?

My own situation is similar: I am replacing the three-screw tailpiece on a 4001 C64 with a V2 bridge. The tail lift is becoming intolerable, and it doesn't matter to me that it's a "reissue" that's being modified.

The new V2 bridge is so much more stable and functional, yet still looks like a RIC part. If you put one on a C64 or 4001CS, you can still notch the center tooth over the mute as a nod to authenticity.
