Acquired a G5220 to join my Ric
Recently traded a Gibson Firebird Zero for a Gretsch G5220. Other than feeling crazy trading a USA guitar for an Asian made one, it just made sense. It play, and sounds truly fabulous. I love the pickups (though the tinkerer in me is curious about more authentic filters). It has a nice growl, but jangles in a way close to a Ric. Recording so far it works wonderfully as a lead guitar with my Ric for rhythm tracks!

An outstanding pairing!
I use my 5220 with the Rickenbacker lap steel all the time. They seem to stay out of each other’s way on the sonic spectrum
