Transonic 200 Output Transistors?

Post by MBFab1 »

Hello!

I'm new to this board - great resource! I'm in the process of repairing a Transonic 200 with one blown output transistor. The original house-numbered Motorola devices are impossible to find. Any suggestions for replacements for both the NPN and PNP devices? I'm going to replace all of them and match up the paralleled pairs as well.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Is it possible to get hold of spec sheets for the Motorola transistors? That's the only way I can think of that's going to enable you to source any kind of equivalents.

By "house numbered", I take it you mean that these transistors have Rickenbacker-specific part numbers on them, not Motorola ones, yes? If so, that's a tough call. A bit of a long shot, but I wonder if might be worth contacting Motorola and asking if they have any records of what transistors they supplied to Rickenbacker for these amps?

Please post good sharp, clear photos of these transistors (overall and close ups, from top, bottom and various angles) with the "house numbers" clearly legible, thanks.

Thanks for the responses! Yes, these transistors have a Rickenbacker-specific part number that I've been unable to cross reference to standard Motorola parts. The PNP part is SJ3564 and the NPN is SJ3565. Photos of both are attached.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I know someone on another forum who may be able to provide some guidance. When I can, I will post these and see what he may have to say as to substitutes.

Try these cross-referenced transistors.

MJ15003 and MJ15004

I got this information from the mouth of an aged horse. :D
