30" speakers?

I saw somewhere, years ago probably, that Rickenbacker made a speaker cab that had a 30" speaker (the driver made by Electro-Voice). While no doubt obsolete today, does anyone have any info on what that model was called?

There was an earlier thread (in the For Sale section) on them, and I fortunately was able to find it:

This is the only thread I can remember where the 30" speakers are mentioned ... but then again, muy memory isn't what it used to be!

yep that 30" Transonic cabinet has been discussed on the RRF a few times.
Pretty mind-blowing, and also probably a terrible speaker to use for musical instruments. Perhaps the original intent was for a PA or something? Even then, that driver is far too large.

IIRC - it was known to create atmospheric disturbances...

I'm not a sound expert, but I think that a folded horn might give better overall power and frequency response than a "BFS".
