370/12RM Battery Connector

Hello,
First post on this Forum.
I have a 1988 Mapleglo 370/12RM and I need to replace the battery connector. I am the second owner and am not sure if the current connector is correct. The battery leaked and damaged the connector.
Attached, is a picture of the damaged connector.
The two questions I have are these:
1. Is the battery connector a hard plastic cap or a vinyl covered cap?
2. Were the cap connections covered with electrical tape or heat shrink?
I posted this question on the Official Rickenbacker Forum and an email to the Service Department and received no response. I am hoping someone on this Forum knows the answer. I want to repair my 370/12RM with the correct parts.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Greeting!
RIC should be on their semi-annual holiday vacation, so you should be patient re: hearing back from them.

IIRC, that should be a "standard" 9-volt battery wiring connector. The reasons for me saying this are two-fold: (1) I think that's what is in my RM the last time I changed the battery, and (2) a similar connector in my 381JK needs to be replaced, and I bought a "standard" 9V wiring connector for that purpose, as that is what is on it.

Is yours the hard plastic, or the soft vinyl variety? This is what mapleglorm is asking.

I don't remember it being hard plastic in either of the RM or JK, but I'll check the RM tomorrow.

Many thanks, Jason. Mine must have been replaced before, because my connector is spliced where yours seems to be connected directly to the circuit board. I will buy a vinyl covered connector and slice it in. I am not going to mess with the circuit board
Also, thanks to all that have responded.

You're welcome! We are glad to help!
FWIW I checked my FG RM and it has the soft vinyl connector, as I expected.

FWIW, same connector as in the video.
