Time to own a Ric again

Post by brianeharmonjr »

Due to financial issues about 8 years ago (man, it's been too long), I ended up having to sell most of my guitar equipment, including my beloved white 4003BT, my Desert Gold 660/12, and my Turquoise 360. I still think about those guitars a lot, probably more than is healthy, as I went through years and years of owning and trying different Rics to end up with those. Well, I'm in a much better and more stable place financially, and I'm ready to dip my toe back in to Ric ownership. Not sure if it's going to be a bass, a 6, or a 12, if I'll pick up a more standard color or wait for something more special to come around (REALLY want something in that purple color Ric posted), or if I'll go with new or used. The market has certainly changed since I dipped out, and it seems COY stuff is pretty tough to come by, but I hope to rejoin the Ric-ownership ranks sooner rather than later, and start posting/commenting more. It's comforting to see some names that I used to see a lot, and it will be fantastic to have a Ric back in my hands.

Appreciate it! I messaged people I sold my bass and Turq 360 to through eBay and they unfortunately have long since sold them. Guess I'll lurk here and see if something interesting pops up!

No surprise. Everything is sky high since the pandemic anyway, and those cool color combos are fetching record prices. Did you want those specifically, or just to have Ricks again? I have a few sitting around if you want to pm me.

So it's a 4003 WHT BT, white with black trim.

Thanks, Gary!

Yeah, white with black trim. I think it was a '95. Loved that damn thing. I contacted the guy I sold it to on eBay, but he said he sold it a couple of years ago.

Also, shoutout to Jason for offering me a few options for getting back in!

Hey Brian, welcome back! Hope you're doing well.

Don't beat yourself up too much about selling those in the past, they're just guitars and they come and go (or that's been my experience). Never too late to jump back in the pool again.

Brian! I remember you from my days on here, welcome back, mate!

I was Rickless between 2014-2016, but what made me force myself to get another Rick was knowing I was, and always will be, a Rickenbacker man. I now own three, and they’re all keepers.

Welcome back, and again, GLWTS. (S in this case, stands for search)
