Hey Everyone, New Member, New Guitar
Hey Everyone,
I'm Pete a new member here from Colorado. I've had a number of Rickenbacker's in the past. A 1980 4001 in Autumnglo, a 620 and a few 330's one of which was in Desert Gold. I just purchased another 330 yesterday off of Reverb. I'm pretty psyched on this one as it literally has all the upgrades I would have done already taken care of.

Anyways, just wanted to say hey to everyone. Happy to be here.

Welcome to the Forum!
Nice looking guitar. Take some pictures of your own and post them when you get it and have some spare time (meaning, when you finally can let go of it long enough to take pictures! ).

Hi Pete and welcome aboard.
That's a lovely instrument - especially with all the vintage mods. Tasty.

Thanks everyone,
Yeah I’m pretty excited about the mods. I always had my eye out for a vintage 330. Seems like only 2 years ago and they were quite common on Reverb at decent prices. Nowadays they don’t pop up that often. When they do, prices seem high.

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Hey Everyone, New Member, New Guitar
I'll get new pictures posted this weekend. What's up with the registry, should I update this S/N at all?
Also, even though this guitar already has some upgrades I've been thinking about getting a Mastery Bridge and perhaps trying some Creamery Pickups. I'm sure some of you have tried them before, what are your favorites? What about the Lollar Broilers? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Also, if anyone has some pickups they'd want to trade, I've got the Ric Toasters and the HG's.

Re: Hey Everyone, New Member, New Guitar
Just my angle on it, but... if I was putting non-RIC aftermarket pickups into a RIC instrument, I would keep the original pups. If the day ever comes that you need to sell the guitar, it'll be a lot more appealing to the market if you can offer it with its original pups (even as spares). No matter how good their quality, being fitted with non-RIC pups and having no "stock" fallback option is likely to knock back the resale value.

Hi gang, how are you?
I have a LEFTY 360/12C 63. About 2 months ago..someone robbed my freakin
Silver Case at a gig!!! I have been looking around for something, ANYTHING,
you know? The Rickenbacker Case (IF they'll sell me it) , is $500, maybe
more!! Just too darn much. I've been asking around about the fit of a 335
Case or a 335-Sized Gig Bag. What I would like to know from you, is...do
you think I could have someone (not me, I'd mess it up) turn the Winfield
into a lefty case? Does it look like those 2 inserts that keep the body nice
and secure would come out?/
Thank for your time.
Your pal,
Tommy

Re: Hey Everyone, New Member, New Guitar
Hi Tommy,
Bummer about your case. There's a special Hell for gear thieves where Satan's evil squirrels will toast their nuts on an open fire.
One option is to try out a regular acoustic guitar case. I used one for a few years with my 330. It's not ideal, but if you put a soft cushion in the case to lift the guitar body up, so the guitar lies flat, it does work. Plus you can shop around with your guitar in hand to find the best available fit and you don't have to spend a lot of do$h.
I hope you find a solution that saves your Rick and doesn't hurt your pocket.
Cheers,
