somehow in the process of removing the ric-o-sound and installing a toaster, i have screwed up my wiring. i was using the schematic for a 4001v63 on the ric website and, for some reason, ne neck p-up is not working. i went with just a standard 1/4 jack. do i need to use the "standard" 1/4 that was originally there?

A good way for a beginner to learn is to have 2 rics ... I use my 1968 as a template for wiring ... it came mono from the factory ... I'll post some pictures of a properly wired bass ...

If you can find a 4003s or 4001s wiring diagram that would work or the 4001v63 wiring should work as well ...

it can be a little confusing ... but it is not rocket science ...

Make sure you are putting in 2 mono jacks ... the stereo jack could be messing you up ...

thanks for the help.
the wire to the pickup had crept down so that the ground was making contact with the hot at the base of the pickup.
it took a while to find it because it was the last thing i checked.
that's my luck!

Funny how it's allways the last place you look, huh? So, how does that toaster sound?
