Michael Parks Jr. - All Them Witches

Post by Sugarcane »

Just came across this gentleman who plays a VERY interesting Rick bass that has endured more abuse than I've ever seen, and also a 12 string guitar.

He tells the whole story of both instruments here:

What kind of Rick bass is that? From the views I could see, its either a 3001 or a 4001/4003 with the upper horn cut off. I understand some tribes cut off the horn, grind it into powder, and use it as an aphrodisiac....

That bass has a lot of notoriety around TB. It's nice to finally get the lowdown on what happened to it, why it is the way it is.

Ah, I missed the rundown on the bass the first time. Gawd a 1972 bass treated that way -- Oh the humanity! :( :( :( :( :(

It's nice someone is getting some use out of it.
