Recommendation for wireless system for bass

Post by Highway Star »

I'm looking for a recommendation for a decent wireless system that is not "top dollar". I'm not playing gigs, mostly playing at home & jamming a little here and there, and mostly just wanting to not have the inconvenience of a cable, but not wanting to spend 4 to 6 hundred, if possible.

Does anyone know if there are any systems that will work for both bass and guitar, since I play both? 25 or so years ago a few of us in my band had the fairly basic Nady systems, the 101 I think - single antenna. They were very well priced and worked surprisingly well. That system worked well for both guitar and bass, but it seems I've heard recently of some systems that distort with bass guitar.

I'm not up on the newer systems, so any info will be helpful.

I have a line6 g10 with which I am happy.

Apparently some people had issues with them for which line6 made updates which they advise you to run.

Probably more than you want to spend but the Shure GLX-D is a great wireless unit.
I have used it for the past 8+ years without a hiccup for bass, electric guitar and acoustic guitar.
Built in accurate tuner is a nice feature and they are built like a tank.

I bought a guitar bug system and a few years later Homeland Security/Fire/Rescue bought the wavelength so cannot use it anymore.
I also found the sound not as good as cabled.
But I would like to find one for now that I can use at home and at church by just plugging it into their bass DI box on stage.

If you can swing a Sennheiser, you won't be disappointed.

Don't cheap out, nothing worse than a surprise dropout or tonal change.

Don't buy the **** ones on Amazon. I've read they are garbage. I love my Boss WL-20 so much I bought another after the battery finally stopped holding a decent charge after 4 years.
