Where does this wire go?

Post by lumgimfong »

My 2016 4003 harness. Just wondering where that detached jack wire goes.
I am guessing:
1. It is just a single wire that goes to the left lug of the pot nearest the toggle switch pictured, if you are facing the lugs of the pot.
2. It is a coax with grounding strands bundled under heat shrink and core wire only goes to lug.
3. it is a coax and the core aaand grounding strands get wrapped together and then soldered to that lug.
Which is correct? Any? Thanks!

Yep. It's option 2, and it goes to the pot lug you've identified. :)

It's a shame Joey took down his Bass Notes. That helped a lot of people.

I know. It helped me when I got my first (and only so far) Ric and wanted comprehensive repair/maintenance/setup info on their basses, since there was so much conflicting talk about how the basses must be treated.
