Dear RIC - Please consider this 4003s5 "Quad Coil" :D

For the "what the heck am I thinking" file.
I am warming to the new triangular pickups idea for the 4003s5. I do prefer a more regular shape, but I get where you're going.
Here is an idea though, rough as it is. How about offering an ALL OUT - BALLS TO THE WALL option giving us four of them suckers! Make another push-pull pot or two to series/parallel the individual pickups. EDIT: I originally thought about coil-split, but that would leave a strange string imbalance on the "upside down" pickup. Although you could switch between humbucking and single-coil, which would simply select the original right side up pickup with fat end under the B, of course.
If I had a 4003s5 I would actually consider doing this.

I would suggest to those who can't get used to the shape of the new pickups, to make a rounded rectangular surround for each.
I don't mind the shape of the new pickups. I had a hard time getting used to the pickguard without the treble pickup surround. So I solved that problem.

It didn't last long from being transferred, so it's resting comfortably with the original pickguard. Then, I totally blacked it out. Maybe I'll go with DR Black Beauties strings...or DR Neon Reds.

I actually like the look of the popcorn ceiling reflecting on the finish!

When I saw the original picture, I thought of the 4001 bass that Mike Parks had in his "Hall of Shame" that had a gazillion switches and knobs to control all permutations of its multiple pickups ...

Only the landing page still exists. Pick of the Ricks is gone too.

Yeah, I saw that when I tried to grab a screenshot of the bass in question on his site ... if one does a search on "the rickenbacker page at the music connection", one can find a link to a slightly different page:
which is likely an older page. There is also a link to Facebook in that search, but since I'm not a member, I only see a limited amount of stuff (or at least, so I figure). From what I see there, it looks like the last post was in 2020 (?!?).
I did a quick search for "mike parks obituary north carolina" and did see one (Michael Jason Parks, age 48, IIRC), I hope that was not him.
