Every other brand of bass and some 4001 I have seen have even nut heights. Not this big slant. Just wondering.
Also, if I ever replace my 4003 nut do I have to recreate this big slant?

You don't have to recreate that slant. New replacement nuts from RIC do not have the top slant. That slant would confuse some people sighting down the neck, making them think the neck was twisted.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
