Hi Rickeresource community

Was looking into Rickenbacker C64 and noticed that some C64 have the zero fret and some don’t.

Does anyone know why that is or is it a buyer beware situation if you don’t see the zero fret. Also the nut colours do vary for some reason.

Would love to have understand why and hear from anyone whose got a C64 model.

Thanks

The 4001C64S that simulates PM's bass after he sanded down the edges of the body horns and after it had the treble pickup replaced. It has a zero fret as McCartney had added to it back in the '70s. The 4001C64 (no "S") does not have the zero fret as it simulates the bass as he originally received it in 1965.
