Rare employee build or custom order 1983 330 12?

Post by playloud89 »

What do you all think about this 1983 330 12? (See attached).

Described by the seller as a potential employee guitar with factory binding & toasters, the slim 60’s type headstock, the OHSC, an extra thick rosewood fret board and the original R tail piece in the case.

If this is legit - are there many other employee guitars or custom orders like this known?

It does happen. Try the group Rickenbacker Market Watch on facebook. Someone there might know.

That particular guitar is either in (or has spent time in) Japan. Judging by that case.
