If thats true im totally out of buying one, that's crazy money.
I paid less than that for an all original '62 slab-board P-bass. :o

They said years ago if the 4005 ever returned, they would be pricey.

Well they definitely stayed true to their word on that... in the UK at least!

Part of that is the pound has a much less favorable exchange rate to the dollar than it used to.

Have to say, the only 4005 I ever played, I didn’t love. It was ok; the bridge pickup really didn’t work for me. Which is lucky for me, at the prices of the new ones! For that price, I could buy a very early ‘70s 4001 with all the goodies.

The new one is going to be $ 5250 Canadian . I don't think that is unreasonable when you compare to Gibson and Fender prices .
I put a deposit down on one , I wonder if I will still be alive when it
arrives .....

Wow! That’s pretty good! I paid my 4005XC more than that!

Where did you put your deposit if you don’t mind sharing that info?

I’m a Canadian living in Australia and we sadly don’t have a Rickenbacker distributor so I need to order from the US or Canada.

I need a Jetglo 4005V…

This being said, I’m pretty happy with my XC. First time I play with a short scale and I like it.

I was quoted US$4,699 from Wildwood, including freight. I'll be up for local taxes & duties on delivery to OZ on top of that. Despite that I hit the button to order mine.

Cheers,
Andrew

Awesome!

I’ll inquire with them!

House is paid off, daughter is out of her posh private school. Time to treat myself.
