Since you are in the U.K. It might take some investigating as to who to turn to for warranty issues, but I’m fortunate being in the US. Good luck!
It seems like the party may be over here  I bought the guitars in the USA so they might require me to send the parts back to Santa Ana. A UK fix would be a bit more convenient for the part where the new tuners come to me, but I'm fine either way, I just was most interested to learn (1) I wasn't crazy in terms of my experience; and (2) The company knows of the issue and considers it something covered by warranty.

I'll chase up Rickenbacker on this.

Best of luck and I hope you are able to get them replaced in a timely manner.

I have finally been able to drop off the 1993+ to my luthier after several weeks of delay due to bad weather, power outages and too many other obstacles. He’s installing the new tuners along with a new 12 saddle bridge. I may even have it completed by this Sunday if all goes well. Fingers crossed.

I am happy to report that I just picked up the 1993+ from my tech who installed the new Rickenbacker Deluxe tuners and did a new setup. The replacement tuners are fantastic and are much, much better than the ones that were originally shipped with the guitar. All the keys turn very smoothly and there’s none of that annoying backlash or sudden slipping. I had him put on a set of Curt Mangan flat wounds, instead of Thomastiks as I could not find a set.

Unfortunately, he did not install the Rickenbacker 12 saddle bridge as it did not want to play nicely with the courses without having to adjust the spacing on the E strings. I would like to thank Rickenbacker for making things right and replacing all of the tuners. It has made a world of difference and the guitar now plays as nicely as it looks.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear it worked out well. I still have to send in my warrantee cards, etc. and hope that Rickenbacker engages with me the way they engaged with you.

Thanks,I wish you the best with your guitars. The new tuners are great and the guitar is a joy to play and stays in tune!
