1967 Rickenbacker 615

Post by keefff »

Hello everyone, my first post. I bought this one recently from Bologna, Italy - GE2365 is already in the Register since 2011 and still in very fine condition.

It is kind of a polar opposite to my other Rickenbacker, a recent 660 in Fireglo, but both guitars are very enjoyable! When picking these up, the 615 appears lighter but it is in fact slightly heavier than the 660. As expected, the necks on these could not be more different - you might assume that these mid '60s necks were predominantly meant for rhythm players, since doing some bluesy soloing on those are somewhat of a challenge.

About the unusual case: after having duly studied the Register, I have a theory that this could in fact be the original one - but more on that in a separate thread. :)

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
