RIC Boutique

I just tried to purchase 4 sets of strings and a guitar strap from the RIC Boutique. $75 purchase price. When I went to finish the purchase, it told me that the shipping cost from RIC to me in Long Island, NY would be $41 via FedEx. $41? Shipping and handling of my RIC guitar from Sweetwater, by comparison, was $48.
I did not complete my order, needless to say.
Is the Boutique website working properly?

Yup. Crazy expensive. That’s why I bought my Ric parts elsewhere last time.

If you only need a few things, they’re usually available from RIC dealers on Reverb (and elsewhere) at a lower shipping cost.
It’s always been pricey shipping from the Boutique, for some reason.

Try Gelb music they stock Ric parts and ship for reasonable amounts. I was actually referred to them by Rickenbacker.

I just placed an online order with these guys and everything went smoothly and their shipping rates were normal.
I’d buy from them again.

Manufacturers often prefer letting their dealers handle the sales for them, so high shipping prices may be a subtle deterrent.

Yes, very weird shipping prices on the boutique; $30 tailpiece was in the $20's to ship to NJ.
