1957 combo 450

Were these constructed with bolt on “wings”. I see they have a natural wood mech through design and painted wings attached by bolts? Also west is the body thickness? Thanks.

Nothing of that sort is mentioned in the Bacon and Day book, and I don't remember seeing that in any offerings.

I do recall that Bunker offered interchangeable wings on their ProStar guitar line back in the 1970s, IIRC.

Yes, Ive had a couple of late 50's 400's, and they did use bolts going through the body perpendicular to the neck. Pretty goofy by our modern standards, but hey they were still kind of figuring the whole thing out, right?
