Start of the long renovation of my RM1999

I only get to this bit by bit but yesterday I managed to remove the blocks in the bridge route and it’s pickup cavity.
Now looking at the bridge I have it will never cover all the route that was modified in the past for some or other bridge.
I don’t think my China Mall bridge is smaller and I will need some woodwork.
My thinking is to route the cavity square again by maybe 1/4” then route from the pickup cavity to the bottom edge 1/8” and insert thin maple.
Then I can re-route the bridge cavity properly.
The lower joint will be under the more solid paint and the upper under the pickup.
The bass is already modified so I don’t feel this to be a wrong thing to do. It’s a minimum amount of wood replacement.

I am, as ever, looking for any other ideas / suggestions here.

I think that most of us would appreciate some photos as the work progresses as points of reference.

Based on what you have described as a starting point, IMO any work you do will be for the betterment of the bass. 8)
