I like my bridge pickup covers. are the new surrounds the same screw spacing/positions as the old? i have a spare bridge pickup/surround i could swap in (if i got a new bass).

i would not want to drill a new bass. darn thumb rest/no cover…

“The RIC website has the understandable disclaimer that one will need to drill holes to fit the new part.”

that makes me unhopeful.

I would like to know as well, but my guess is that your mileage may vary, depending on the vintage of the bass you get.

IIRC Pick Guardian have a downloadable temple of all the variations of surround, with the various screw spacings.

Looking at online pic’s of the new pickup surround the mounting screw locations have changed compared to earlier versions, it can be flipped for right hand/left hand use.
Looks like this one left the factory upside down

Maybe they wanted the “tug bar” on the bottom, by the G string?
