Any chance of the Searchers joining forces with the Swinging Blue Jeans, the Easy Beats(Friday On My Mind), Gerry Marsden, Brian Poole and the Tremelos, the Hollies and other venerable groups from the British Invasion, for a tour of the U.S.A?

Ed: I don't think that there is much chance of your wish this time around.
The Searchers' 2001 Tour is posted on their Official Site and it would seem that they are booked from now until the end of August 2001 already.

Ed,
They did a tour like that in '86-right after Spencer joined. Searchers, Gerry and the (pseudo)Pacemakers, Chad and Jeremy, Freddie and the(Fake) Dreamers and some other group (non-originals) I can't think of. Gerry headlined .Tour was coast to coast. Promotors took a bath. Only good thing out of it, it inspired the Searchers to start the "Silver '60's Tours" in England.Frank wrote about in "Traveling Man".
I seriously doubt you'll see anything like that here soon. The last one before that I remember was in '72. Although Mike Pender's band was part of a 3 day show at Foxwoods Casino last summer that got taped for PBS.
