Serial # KD 170. Interesting. Treble pickup is identical to that on my November 1970 21 fret 4001. Here's a pic.

Agreed.
I have to admit that it beats the pickguard-material-covering-the-holes-after-the-leo-quan-install look, but it still ain't quite "right".
